Commercial + industrial

Workshops, units and sites, wired to keep trading.

Three-phase supplies, panel boards, low-bay LED lighting, emergency lighting and full fit-outs. Typical work ranges from a complete workshop fit-out with low-bay lighting, ramps and sockets, to bringing a new three-phase supply in with underground ducting for a unit that has outgrown its power. Jack visits the site, scopes it properly and quotes in writing, with the paperwork your insurer wants at the end.

What's involved

Commercial work, scoped and certified

Commercial and industrial jobs live and die on getting the scope right and keeping the place running. Jack scopes and certifies every job himself, here is how a job comes together.

  1. 01

    Site visit and scope

Jack comes to the unit, looks at what is there and what you need, supply capacity, lighting, power, machinery, any inspection requirements, and scopes the job properly rather than quoting blind.

  2. 02

    Written quote

You get the scope and price in writing, planned around your trading hours and downtime where possible, so there are no surprises and you can budget the job.

  3. 03

    Install with minimal disruption

Three-phase supplies, distribution boards, fit-outs, low-bay and emergency lighting, power and sockets, sequenced to keep the unit working wherever it can be.

  4. 04

    Test, certify, document

The work is tested and certified, with the documentation your insurer and any inspection regime will want, EIC, Minor Works or EICR as the job calls for.

A typical job

Two typical commercial jobs

A common one: a garage or workshop fitted out from scratch, with low-bay lights over the bays, power to the ramps and sockets throughout, done to a standard the owner can rely on day in, day out. Another regular job: a unit that has outgrown its supply, where Jack brings in a new three-phase supply with underground ducting. Scoped on site and signed off properly, with the paperwork to prove it.

Straight answers

Questions, answered.

Do you take on three-phase work?

Yes. New three-phase supplies, distribution boards, panel work and machinery connections are core commercial work for Jack, including bringing a fresh supply in with underground ducting where a unit needs more capacity than it has.

Can you minimise downtime so we keep trading?

That is always the priority on commercial jobs. Jack scopes the work around your trading hours where he can, isolates only what he has to, and plans the sequence so the unit keeps running. Wiring that keeps you trading is the whole point.

What certification do we get for commercial work?

You get the right paperwork for the job, an Electrical Installation Certificate for new work, a Minor Works Certificate for smaller alterations, or an EICR where an inspection is needed. The documentation your insurer and any inspection regime will ask for.

What types of premises do you cover?

Workshops, garages, industrial units, retail and small commercial premises across Fife and Edinburgh. Jack handles fit-outs, low-bay LED and emergency lighting, power and sockets, panel boards and three-phase supplies — and will travel a bit wider for the right commercial job.

Scope your commercial job.

Tell Jack about the unit and what you need, supply, lighting, power, a full fit-out, and he'll visit, scope it and quote in writing.
